With a heads up from our tutor Matt we dug up this amazing photos from the 1990 issue of the face magazine. First thing we thought, how much has kate grown out? she looks so young. Her happiness and youth is capture so well with this photographs.

Natasha Poly for Vogue Paris

A less playful but very relevant editorial to give us inspiration for our very photoshoot. This photoshoot has a more high fashion feel and natasha's tan and posing is very striking. What we like about this shoot is the differnet locations for the shoot and the why it adds to the pictures. The first picture at the top is our favourite as the pose so is so well composed and the shadows of the palm trees and the cocktails are just the perfect touch to finished of the photo.

We stumbled across the work of Lauren Ward through Wildfox Couture. I personally have always loved all the imagery they use in their lookbooks and for their catalogue collections but never really looked further into seeing who was behind it. But now we know, and here are a few portrait images from her portfolio. They embody everything about the summer that we want Quarter Zine to capture- playfulness, curiosity, reminiscent, creative, relaxed and personal.

naughty but nice fashion shoot from Yulia Gorodonski. The saturated filters and hues within this photography give a lovely summery feel and brings out the blues and yellows perfectly. Also abit retro which we love. Definitely something to consider for our photoshoot.

"Belarusian photographer Yulia Gorodonski has an incredible collection of self-portraits. She gets inspired by her surroundings, films, music, props, and of course the way she’s feeling. She’s been working professionally for about a year, and her work has been featured in Chaos Magazine.

Yulia is currently based in Israel, and at the moment she’s finishing up a book of her fantastic self-portaits."

We feel totally inspired by this quote from fashion legend and well missed designer Yves Saint Laurent. Although fashion and trends change from season to season, we want quarter to be eternally stylish, always meaningful and something to be treasured.

DIESEL POOL PARTY
I think this was a promotional party for Diesel new campaign, be stupid which invited a whole host of celebrity to come party pool side. The inflatable they have are just out of this world. This looks like the best pool party ever held. We want to create some of the energy of this pool party and inject it into our own. We are inspired.

This is such a clever shoot for Wildfox's spring/summer 2009 lookbook shoot. All their tshirt design are playful and vibrate and this is really reflected within their shoot. I also love the little numbers at the bottom to say what you can now do that your all grown up. Such a great touch.
